Katrina Kaif Biography

Nicknamed as Kat; Katrina Kaif was born on 16th July 1984 in Hongkong to an English Mother named Susanna Turcotte and father named Mohammed Kaif; an Indian Kashmiri. Both her parents are British citizens and got divorced when she was very young. Katrina Kaif has 6 more siblings; five sisters and one brother. Katrina and her family have been on move continuously since she was a kid. From Hongkong, her family first moved to China and then to Japan. From Japan, they went to France by boat at the age of 8 and from thereon they stayed at different places. Places like Switzerland, Berlin, Belgium, Kraków, and many East European countries. Post this she moved to Hawaii and finally moved to her mother’s homeland – England.

A lot of people assume that Kat is basically from London; however she has stayed in London only for about three years before she moved to Mumbai, India. Katrina had her first camera encounter at the age of 14 for a jewellery campaign. She had contract with an agency named Models1 and did modelling for houses like Arcadius and La Senza. Kat even walked on the ramp of London Fashion Week. Post that Katrina had done many modelling campaigns for brands like Veet, Pantene, Lakme, Fevicol, LG, Kodak, Lux, Maaza and Lakme. Kat has done movies in many different languages such as English, Telegu, Hindi and Malayalam.

Her first movie break was given to her by London based film maker Kaizad Gustad in his movie Boom in the year 2003. Katrina Kaif worked with names like Amitabh Bachchan and Gulshan Grover in this movie; however the movie failed to make an impact in the box office. Post this Katrina has worked in many movies and is one of the very few actresses who has climbed the ladder of success in a very short span of time and is considered to be number one actress today in Bollywood.
